About Me

I’m not just about coaching or facilitating workshops. I’m here to ignite potential in leaders and help transform teams.

Passionate about bringing evidence-based approaches to leaders and teams

Others describe me as having ‘infectious enthusiasm’ for life in general – it’s pretty contagious. I work with leaders to help them discover their strengths, ignite their potential, and make a positive impact in the work they do.

Before starting my own business, I’d had 20 years experience in policy, data, programme and people management roles, mostly in the public sector. I’ve always been fascinated by human behaviour and love geeking out on data (I did a degree in maths and psychology).

  • “Antonia's coaching style allows you to understand your strengths better and supports you in discovering areas that I wasn't so aware of. Her empathetic style and her probing questions make each session a great experience and I look forward to each one.”

Freddy Ernst, Manager – Ministry of Education

  • “Thank you Antonia for a wonderful, fun and informative Strengths Introductory Workshop. For creating an environment where we all felt safe to be vulnerable and were able to learn a lot about ourselves and each other. We are looking forward to keeping the conversation going.”

Suzanne Gamble, Projects & Creative Manager – Alpha New Zealand

  • “I wanted to share a quick note of appreciation. Your book has been incredibly valuable as I set up my new unit. I'm using it to establish team gathering cadences and prepare for our first team gathering next week. The templates are particularly helpful, and the reminders about purpose, planning, and presence have been a game changer.”

Rebecca Foley, Head of Insights, Labour, Science and Enterprise – MBIE

  • “Thanks so much for the Overlander experience. It was a nice chance to practice naming, claiming, and aiming my strengths. I think it's a brilliant vehicle for people like me to get a bit of practice with them.”

Carl Rein, Personal Trainer – ONI

  • “It is great to have a sounding board and a source of good practical advice and help. I have gained insights into how I work and ways to be more effective outside my comfort zone.”

Phil Wise, Principal Advisor – Ministry of Education

  • “What a fantastic, upbeat and positive facilitator! Thank you.”

Maree van der Zouwe, Senior Advisor – Commerce Commission

  • “I’ve just been to Auckland and took it to read on the way there and back on the plane. I couldn’t put it down. It’s so clearly and beautifully written and is a combination of practicality and inspiration. I think this book will really make a big difference in helping leaders, managers and facilitators get the most out of their gatherings.”

Trish Lui – Catalyst Pacific Ltd

  • “Immediate tangible benefit from your book! (I’ve read Purpose and Planning chapters so far). After some collaborative crowdsourcing from my team, we’ve just articulated the purpose for our team gathering in a few weeks…and it’s getting everyone excited about looking forward to the event.”

    Gina Williamson, Manager – MBIE

What I Do Now

Strengths-Based Leadership Coaching

I ‘get’ your context – I may have even walked in your shoes. I empathise with the challenges, opportunities and changes you’re facing in this rapidly changing world.

As your coach, I:

  • Create a space for us to partner together.
  • Listen deeply, question openly, and provide support, encouragement and as much stretch as you’d like.
  • Help you leverage your unique strengths to achieve your goals, using the CliftonStrengthsⓇ framework.
  • Provide you with practical tools and strategies to support you to get to where you want to be.
  • Provide team coaching for small groups – creating safe spaces for teams to grow their self-awareness and build deeper connections together.

Facilitating Purposeful Team Gatherings

I love sharing my energy with others and supporting you with designing workshops that not only meet the outcomes you seek, but also bring out the best in your team.

As your facilitator, I:

  • Create spaces where participants engage, connect and drive real results.
  • Design bespoke workshops that are fit-for-purpose and budget.
  • Enable interactive experiences that are inclusive and engaging.
  • Foster a space where people feel safe to be themselves and build trust.
  • Am flexible to facilitate in-person or virtually.

Over 5 years experience as a facilitator

I’ve designed hundreds of workshops resulting in a range of prepared workshop materials on a variety of topics, such as:

  • Strengths Discovery – using CliftonStrengths (aka StrengthsFinder)
  • Playing to Our Strengths as a Team
  • Strengths-Based Leadership
  • Managing Change & Transitions
  • Crafting a Vision for your Team
  • Strategic Work Programme Planning
  • Goal Setting
  • Multi-day Leadership Retreats – ‘Real Change Happens When We Work Together Mahi-Tahi’

  • And many more…

“What will happen when we think about what is right with people rather than fixating on what is wrong with them?”
– Donald Clifton, father of strengths-based psychology

My Unique Approach

Bringing together my backgrounds in strengths-based leadership coaching and purposeful team facilitation and as a certified CliftonStrengths coach and ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), I help you focus your energy on what you naturally do best, creating sustainable change and lasting impact.

Transforming how teams work together is a passion of mine, which lead me to write the book Team Spirit: The Power of Purposeful Gatherings sharing practical ways to create meaningful team connections and achieve real outcomes.

When I’m Not Working

When I’m not helping leaders and teams thrive, I love spending time with my husband, Ashley and our kids, Alice and George, and creating adventures for us together as a family (our last big adventure was living in France during 2023).

We love our board game sessions, family movie nights, and making homemade pizzas in our pizza oven. I’m often out walking our dog, Skittles, exploring Wellington’s hills. I get around town on my e-bike (my ‘cheat bike’) and love the feeling of wind in my hair (we get a lot of wind in Wellington).

I originally moved to NZ in 2004 from the UK. I was drawn by the fresh air, snowy mountains, landscape of adventures, and the entrepreneurial spirit of its people. Then I fell in love with my husband and made NZ my permanent home.
